Delicious Creamy Golden Milk

Golden Milk, made with turmeric and ginger, is used as an anti-inflammatory in the Ayurvedic tradition. Usually made with cow’s milk, I make mine with almond or coconut milk, so it’s vegan. It’s great to curb sugar cravings at night and awesome for digestion.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1-1/2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp powdered turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp powdered ginger
  • 10 oz. of almond or coconut milk, unsweetened
  • Raw honey or grade B maple syrup, to taste
  • Freshly grated nutmeg (regular is fine too)

Rebel – You sure are nasty.
And there is no such thing as "home ethical vegan raw honey".
HelenaW made a fair point. It is not vegan when it contains honey.
No need to remain so ignorant.

Bees are majestic creatures! We should bewail that they are imprisoned by cruel human slave masters and forced to make succulent honey for their breakfast bagels while their little bee children go hungry! We need to make the world aware of the plight of these magnificent creatures! Rally the pickateers and protesters! Let your voice be heard! Chain yourself to something in the grocery parking lot!

Mmmm…this sounds great! I used to heat milk and butter and shave some nutmeg in and drink the concoction before bed, which yielded some very restful sleep, but I like the sounds of this better…so many wonderful flavors!
